About Us
MERGE, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and it is our mission to help the youth and families of the Tampa Bay community merge on the path to lifelong success through higher education. We provide workshops, mentoring programs, college tours, and one-on-one consultations to students and their families to prepare for life beyond high school.
The founders, Jeffrey and LaDessa Mitchell, have worked for over a decade to assist students and peers with their educational pursuits. Both Jeff and LaDessa grew up in homes with parents who completed a bachelor’s degree. However, it was still very difficult to navigate the process because of the limited amount of resources available to students in situations similar to theirs: above average academically, highly motivated with parents with four-year degrees and working outside the home. With the help of the board members and staff, their desire is to help any student interested and motivated to obtain post-secondary education through Mitchell Educational Resources Group Endeavor (known as MERGE, Inc.).
MERGE, Inc. makes finding the “right fit” available at little to no cost for any student who needs guidance, especially those do not qualify for college admissions assistance through other need-based programs. It was established to guide students through the planning and execution phases of both their high school and postsecondary education. We provide relevant educational and financial resources and support to all students. We are positioned as professionals with firsthand experience and acquired expertise in all things related to postsecondary education. Our approach and knowledge is thorough, efficient and economical in price.
